Investing in The Future: Building the Resilience of Women and Girls in the Arab Region

Sharjah will soon be hosting the regional conference : “Investing in The Future: Building the Resilience of Women and Girls in the Arab Region” (IIF MENA) which is held by The United Nation Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), in partnership with The Big Heart foundation. The conference will take place on the 19th and 20th of October 2016.

This conference will survey policies on gender equality and women’s empowerment, in addition to reviewing the advancement made for women and girls to ensure a sustainable approach to development, and will also shed light on the humanitarian efforts made to preserve the resilience of women and girls in the world.

IIF MENA is also in partnership with NAMA women Advancement Establishment, and the League for Arab States, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The conference will invite government representatives, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, gender equality practitioners and leaders, academics and other experts from the region and beyond.

Irthi Contemporary Craft Council, which operates under the umbrella of NAMA will showcase a craft-making station, inviting visitors to the converfernce to learn the craftsmanship of making Emirati Talli with Bidwa artisans from Diba Al Hisn, Sharjah.
